Small Grants

The Small Grants Scheme is delivered by Lancashire and South Cumbria Cancer Alliance in partnership with Spring North. We want to empower local organisations to deliver trusted, community-based activities that help more people spot potential cancer symptoms early, access support and improve cancer outcomes across Lancashire and South Cumbria.

Funding is available for projects that help raise cancer awareness and support earlier diagnosis of cancer.

Who can apply?

Grants are available for voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) organisations across Lancashire and South Cumbria.

We want to support community-led projects that help people:

  • Understand cancer signs and symptoms.
  • Take part in cancer screening programmes.
  • Access relevant vaccination programmes.
  • Overcome barriers to healthcare.
  • Seek medical help earlier when they have concerns.

Projects should focus on communities that experience the poorest cancer outcomes or face barriers to accessing healthcare.

What can funding be used for?

Funding can be used for a range of activities, including:

  • Community awareness events.
  • Peer support and education sessions.
  • Storytelling and engagement projects.
  • Myth-busting and information campaigns.

Successful projects will be supported by Spring North throughout the application, delivery and evaluation process.
